SJP Episode #021 with Lisa Lloyd Being Faithful with the Gifts & Talents God’s Given YOU!

Simply Joyful Podcast — Lisa Lloyd: being Faithful with the Gifts & Talents God's Given YOU!

The need to feel appreciated and needed is quite common for most of us, but especially for moms. We pour ourselves out to our families all day. We often joke that our job is a thankless job.

Today on the podcast, we are talking to Lisa Lloyd about her new book, Chasing Famous. She talks about how it’s in our “human nature to want to be loved, affirmed, and accepted.” In other words, it’s normal. Yet, we often look for all these things in all the wrong places. Ultimately, God is the one who we should be running to for our approval. He loves us and created us to shine for His glory. He equipped each one of us to tell a story with our lives using the gifts that He’s given us — making Him “famous” in all we do. (bold that!)

I know you are going to be so encouraged by this episode. We went totally off topic from what we had planned. I think you are going to be so blessed that we did, too! We had even prayed before hand that God would lead the conversation…and He did. Get ready to be encouraged!

Highlights from the Show:

  • Lisa shares about the inspiration behind Chasing Famous. Lisa shares how it came about the anxious feelings before a audition and feeling God telling her that he wanted to make HIM famous.
  • God showed me that it wasn’t just in my acting, but in my everyday life that I could make Him famous. —Lisa Lloyd

  • It doesn’t really get easier, I’ve just learned that I need to trust God. — Lisa Lloyd

What if the church was the place people ran to? What if they ran to the church because the church was safe? —Lisa Lloyd

  • Trusting that my obedience despite the sacrifice is bringing a smile to God’s face—to bring glory to him.
    —Lisa Lloyd
  • Do you need to be accountable to someone? As sinners saved by grace, accountability is so important. As mentioned at the end of this episode, here are some great books and posts for digging into the word and growing your faith:
